Get real. If you love someone, you will hurt them. You will tear them to fucking pieces. You will stomp all over their favorite blanket, and their heart. You will eat their candy bar. You will run over their cat with your car. You will make them cry when you tell them you can’t come over Monday night. You will disregard their feelings and make them feel unimportant. You will buy them the wrong birthday present. You will not always make them your first priority. Don’t be foolish enough to base love, real, true love, on something as silly as whether or not you’ve hurt someone, or if they have hurt you. We are human beings, and we fuck up every day, regardless of whether or not we love someone. So if he loves you, he will hurt you, but if you love him, you will stay with him anyway. And if he loves you, he will apologize. And you will forgive him, because he loves you. It is that easy.
